We believe contemporary music must be both experimental and accessible with new, engaging concert formats that encourage exchange and dialogue between audience and artist.

latenz ensemble performances take societal issues and thematize them to challenge the audience’s beliefs and assumptions, pull them out of their daily routines, and open them to new perspectives and new possibilities. These immersive concert experiences combine music with light, video, motion, acting, sound installations – even the natural environment – to transport the audience on a journey of sonic discovery.

Space is made after the concert for the audience to chat with the artists about the experience. They discuss the thematic ideas in the concert, share their feelings about the pieces, and learn about the process to create these unique programs. When the audience is invited into a dialogue, a new community emerges around contemporary music. This groundbreaking approach to concerts defines the latenz ensemble and changes contemporary music audiences.
